The John Lewis christmas ad is here, and you are going to love it. This years ad revolves around a cuddly monster.
Every year the department store chain releases and christmas ad that is quite emotional. This year is no different, and it might be one of the best ones yet. Oscar-winning Michel Gondry had the task of directing the John Lewis christmas ad. When asked about it, Gondry said, “When I told my ex-girlfriend I was doing the next John Lewis Christmas film she said, ‘You have big shoes to fill, this John Lewis commercial must make people cry, don’t forget’. Last week I showed it to her and she cried. Phew.”
The ad features a giant monster by the name of Moz. He lives under the bed of a young boy. The boy and Moz share a deep friendship, and their story does indeed make people cry.
Responses to the John Lewis christmas ad are flooding in
Twitter users certainly ran out of tissues watching the ad. Tears were rolling down the cheeks.
The monster knew he was stopping his young friend from sleeping, so he did what was best for his friend, and gave him a nightlight for Christmas, which sadly in turn kept away the monster.
He gave his life for his friend. Pass the xmas tissues now. 😪

It’s impossible to satisfy everyone. I’m sure you are going to love it. Especially with the soundtrack, which is a cover of “Golden Slumbers” by The Beatles. Get your tissues ready and have a look.
